First off, fruit is packed with unique prebiotic fiber. Prebiotic fiber is what your &#8220;good&#8221; gut microbes, also known as probiotics like to eat. This helps your microbes thrive, which in turn helps with gut healing and digestion.<\/p>\n<p>Fruit also contains phytochemicals, which are compounds produced by plants that have been shown to be protective against oxidative stress. Oxidative stress occurs when there is an imbalance of antioxidants and free radicals (unstable atoms) within the body, which can lead to cell and tissue damage.
